Octarine

OCTARINE
Kairi Orgusaar – painting, Erki Kannus – painting, interactive sound objects
Pärnu City Gallery, 26.05 – 18.06.2022

Our brain is capable of imagining more than external impressions allow. Octarine – the eighth colour of the spectrum, which only wizards and doves can see – looms in artists’ dreams. Through synaptic stutters, gymnastic exercises take place on the retina, while the Universe can fit in a cup of coffee.

The paintings and objects of Erki Kannus (b. 1958) offer a colourful and diverse world, in which there are glimpses of centuries-old art history as well as the symbiosis of the human body with modern technology; Is a human being a robot, or maybe more?

Kairi Orgusaar (b. 1969) paints endless expanses, prototypes of which lie somewhere in her inner cosmos. The author, who appreciates free breathing, air and space, takes us on a journey through ideal landscapes, adding everyday moments impregnated with octarine light.
